Generally oversee the processing of HMS fisheries information delivered to SWFSC and managed and disseminated by the Fisheries Monitoring group. This includes ensuring that all newly received forms and data are tracked and incorporated into existing systems according to standardized procedures. Also ensure the information undergoes adequate quality assurance, and ensure appropriate data are available to customers and consumers of fisheries information, maintain and update documentation of data collection procedures and protocols, identify and remedy data gaps and procedural inefficiencies, and provide expertise and consultation related to the management of data. Effectively communicate needs to fishermen to maintain sustainable data streams and identify any issues in the industry. Contributing to reports, submissions and publications produced by the Fisheries Monitoring Group is also anticipated. Annually managing data entry project and overseeing team of data scientists. Tested different approaches for suspending and stabilizing submerged cameras. -Collaborated with Underwater Videography project team comprised of professionals from CDFW, Pauma Tribal Nation and Nonprofit organizations in five field outings to test system parameters for underwater cameras and progress on protocol development. -Completed Test Plan that outlined plans for system construction and optimization including: study objective, test structure, variables and analysis, risk assessment and mitigation, experimental plan, resource allocation, timeline, deliverables and references. -Performed validation of system design in field testing at Lake Miramar for initial variable and system assessment; and in pools at three different sites of Pauma Creek for trout population counts via continuous underwater videography.
