  Responsible for:• Complex automated machines with PLC, SCADA & safety critical control, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, direct online and VSD controlled 3 phase, stepper or servo motors. • Small chemical plants, PLC loop controlled.• Management information systems and an industrial network infrastructure for inter machine connectivity and reporting. Required outputs:• Investigate and translate basic production requirements and operational problems into a conceptual design and specification document. • Management of the electrical, instrumentation, control and commissioning of projects.• Detail electrical, instrumentation and control circuit hardware design for new and existing projects• Detail control philosophy and software development (PLC, HMI or SCADA)• Commissioning of new and existing complex automated machines and small chemical plants.• Manually generating or updating electrical drawings• Manages plant Electrical/Instrument drawings as per drawing office procedures • Fault finding and problem solving on complex automated machines and small chemical plants • Ensures the integrity of software used on the plants• Control and security of PLC systems and industrial network.
