I teach Middle School Science to 7th and 8th grade girls at the Ellis School. Through a variety of different methods, including labs, modeling, online quizzes, and interactive slideshows, the girls learn the concepts of chemical interactions, climate change, bacteria and viruses, cells, waves, and astronomy. I support the students by staying up to date on grading, and informing them of any missing assignments. I am also in contact with their at-home support network when a student is challenged in the class room. Every student is made to feel accepted, valued, and understood in our classroom space. I taught Pre-Algebra at The Tenney School. I developed personalized lesson plans for each of my students. The classes are 1-to-1, which allowed me to fine tune the curriculum to each student's need. I also taught a weekly lab section with all of my Pre-Algebra students, to allow for group work. I effectively communicated with parents on a weekly basis and worked with them to ensure that their child was getting the support they need. I taught Pre-Algebra at The Tenney School. May 2018 - Jan 2020
Responsible for teaching a nature and conservation based curriculum to students age 4-10. Actively engaged with campers to ensure they were learning and having a worthwhile camp experience. I was well versed in the safety protocols and zoo handbook to provide a safe environment for my campers, as well as having the ability to assist zoo guests with questions. I worked effectively with other camp guides and zoo personnel in a friendly and professional manner. My enthusiasm for sustainability and positive demeanor created an environment conducive to environmental education. Show less
