I am currently in my third year at Ancona. After the creation of my position, I have spent the past three years building a support system for both students, teachers and families in the community. On a day to day basis I collaborate with teachers and outside providers as well as support students with diverse needs with a continuum of services. I work closely with Chicago Public Schools to provide documentation for students applying for a 504 or IEP with the local public schools. Furthermore, I work with families to work through the process of getting public services for students in the private schools. Additionally, in the 2013-2014 school year I wrote and taught two test preparation courses. These classes were focused on preparing 7th and 8th grade students to sit for achievement exams and high school entrance exams at the most competitive secondary schools in Chicago. These courses will continue to be taught into the 2014-2015 school year. Show less
