      There are two main tasks I performed as an Economist at Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC): The Cost of Production (COP) study and economic reporting.For the COP study, I worked on the development of questionnaires, assessment of study population, evaluation of valuation methods, interim updating techniques, and the implementation of cost formulas. I also assisted with the monitoring of the COP between studies with a focus on providing recommendations to EFC Board Members for resolution. I conducted research and analysis of the COP methodology, including input costs (e.g. feed; labour; capital costs) and research sources, to assess the accuracy and suitability of domestic and international data pertaining to the egg industry for COP purposes.With regards to economic reporting, I monitored, analyzed impacts, compiled data and prepared reports that accurately assessed agricultural production, pricing, indices, market and macroeconomic variables. I also responded to requests for data, information and analysis from internal and external stakeholders. Further, I provided critical qualitative and quantitative analyses of externally published papers, and evaluate data requirements. I also assessed and reviewed work conducted by third party consultants. I applied cross-disciplinary knowledge on a variety of topics such as egg production; farm economics; and finance to assess issues specific to the egg industry. This work was seen through the research and qualitative analyses I performed on legislation and regulations pertaining to the egg industry and for communications with government agencies.
