Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
-
Jan 2010 - Jan 2019
I worked as an EEN at the hospital. My duties included administering medications for the residents and the patients on the medical and palliative care ward. I provided total patient care, including wound care using aseptic technique. I completed regular paperwork including ACFI charts, care plans, observations charts and residents notes. I were able to assess a patient’s wellbeing and comfort needs. I regularly had to prioritise tasks and use my time efficiently. I worked in a team environment but I am able to work un-assisted when needed. I learnt the in-house computer software (Medsig) which is an online computerized medications chart linked with the doctors and pharmacist computers.

Registered Nurse
-
Jan 2006 - Jan 2007
I started at Villa Maria as a casual and quickly moved into a permanent part time position. The role was varied with both high and low care residents, including patients with dementia. My responsibilities were to provide general nursing care to all residents and to assist residents in all areas of personal hygiene, dressing and helping at meal times with their meals. I gave emotional support to the residents and their families where and when needed. It was necessary for me to write daily reports and to fill in all other required paperwork. My role included helping with meal preparation, room tidying, bed making and undertaking the resident’s laundry. At Villa Maria I was able to bring my compassionate and responsible nature to a position that meant much more to me than just a job.
