  I co-founded the firm in 1987 and serve as the firm’s Managing Partner. I began my career as a tax lawyer in 1983 and continue to practice extensively in all aspects of federal, international, and New York taxation. Through my practice, I developed a particular expertise in advising on the tax consequences of investments in partnerships and limited liability companies involved in real estate and other types of business. I have represented hundreds of real estate professionals in structuring their real estate investments, regardless of whether they are purchasing a particular property in partnership with others or on their own. I have also represented many clients in structuring the acquisition or sale of a business, as well as advising many corporations on tax issues that arise from the continued operation of their businesses. In addition, I have aggressively represented many clients in tax disputes with governmental authorities and has experience arguing cases before both the New York State and City Tax Tribunals. In addition to my tax background, I have extensive experience in both real estate and corporate law. I have represented both individuals and institutional real estate investors in numerous debt and equity investment matters and am intimately familiar with the numerous issues involved in such investments, both from the lender/investor perspective and the borrower/recipient perspective. My experience also includes representation of numerous clients in the buying and selling of businesses. On the corporate side, I act as a general business law advisor to many different businesses and have reviewed and/or drafted numerous types of contracts, including employment and operating agreements.
