I am currently working as the sole design engineer in a team of product designers. Here I have the opportunity to work both as part of a wider collective, often supporting the team from a more technical standpoint, and on my own development projects.● Automating design - Utilised a Solidworks add-in, Driveworks, to automate the model and drawing generation of one of the company’s custom products. The configurator generated the model, Technical Drawings, FAD and quote document and sent the necessary emails to the customer for approval. Over this 5-month project, I expanded my knowledge of coding logic in DriveWorks, creating VBA macros in Excel, using Powershell to run CMD scripts, and large assemblies and the associated drawings in Solidworks. Through this I was also able to reduce the output time from roughly three days to ten minutes, improving the efficiency of the company at large.● Design Challenges – As the Engineering graduate in a team of product designers, more technical challenges fell to me. One of my earliest contributions was using FEA to find areas of the high stress in an articulated die cast arm that was yielding under practical testing. By analysing the results of the FEA, I was able to come up with a new internal structure which prevented yielding whilst keeping the part weight below target.● Manufacturing Awareness – Working closely with our factories in Vietnam to design, create and test sample products I developed an awareness of manufacturing tolerances and how they can affect the final product.

I was contracted out to take on two projects with strict time pressures. Working with small teams I remained self-sufficient and organised throughout.● Overseeing the management of ACO’s - As part of a team taking on the management of a population of several thousand ACOs within Deutsche bank. Working with large datasheets, creating weekly reports and interacting with and communicating progress to the various business heads that fell under our sector.● Remediate agreements in data storage systems - Restored a population of 14,000 agreements in one of the bank's data storage systems. Working through complex legal agreements to ensure data was accurately stored within the system as well as tracking progress and creating reports for stakeholders.

I spent two months aiding the design team in modelling parts for the 2018 Renault team car.● Modelling - Working with surface modelling in CATIA V5 to model moulds for fuel tanks and other machinery. Using a new CAD software, I was able to individually contribute to the team’s design process.● Fault Fixes – Working through a list of modelling issues in parts to be used on the upcoming car. Through rolling back models and investigating the structure I identified problems correctly and went on to amend the mistakes. Here I would also update any associated drawings for the design team to then clear.

Coached wakeboard and water skiing to large groups of children for 12 hours a day. Working alongside fellow coaches was essential for effective instruction. The children were aged from 7 to17, this helped develop skills in conveying information clearly to a range of observers. In the process of becoming qualified for the role I trained as a lifeguard and obtained a powerboat licence.
