The Lotos Club is a private club with a limited and diverse membership. The club was founded in New York City in 1870 and is one of the oldest literary and arts clubs in the United States. The club's name is derived from Alfred Tennyson's poem 'The Lotos Eaters' and two lines of the poem were selected as the club's motto : "In the afternoon they came unto a land In which it seemed always afternoon" Early members include Mark Twain, Whitelaw Reid, John Hay, Edwin Booth and Andrew Carnegie to name a few. The club sponsors events throughout the year except August when the club is closed. The club has reciprocal relationships with some of the finest clubs throughout the world. Show less

We inventory over 1 million feet of Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Red and White Oak, and Southern Yellow Pine in grades #1&btr., Select Structural, Select Tight Knot, R List Clears, C & btr., Vertical Grain and Mixed Grain, Free Of Heart Center, and Select Decking. Maintain a full inventory from 2 to 6 inches thick and timbers from 6 x 6 thru 16 x 16 up to 40' (longer lengths occasionally available). We can mill full sized dimensions, rough sawn, S4S, tongue & groove, chamfer, bevel, scarf, shiplap, mortise and tenon, dado cuts, V-joint, knee braces, and rafter tails. My novel MANHATTAN AFFAIR was published in 2012. It's a story of three former college friends whose lives reunite in conspiracy, greed, betrayal, and murder. Projects include: •Oil and gas bulk fuel projects in Southern Iraq - 2010. •The implementation and management of a mid-stream bulk fuel logistics network in Afghanistan which safely delivered 264,000,000 USG of various fuel natures to US and NATO FOB's - 2010. •750 man camp build in support of an oil and gas support company in Southern Afghanistan - 2010. •The management, refurbishment and expansion of a disused port in West Africa to allow the rapid import of mine equipment to a rail head via studded crane barges and pier construction - 2011. •Implementation and management of a heavy haulage network in West Africa supporting a major iron ore mine 260km from port - 2011. •Establishment of a regional office in Somaliland to support and facilitate future mineral extraction and oil & gas activities - 2012. •Provision of a satellite based asset and procurement tracking system for mine sites in Central and West Africa - 2012. - In early 2013 we accepted an offer and sold DSS to an Asian based international mining and steel company.
