Working in a technical leadership role has meant a number of new experiences and challenges for me. I have helped to define and plan projects as a part of the product team, provided technical solutions and prototypes as a technical leader and worked to align multiple vendors, stakeholders and external development teams in a technical program manager type role.This type of leadership role has been interesting in so much that I staying close and working within the engineering team I can directly contribute to solutions and strategic decisions while also helping to build external relations and effectively manage projects that exceed beyond development tasks.

I joined Play Sports Network as a Full Stack Javascript Developer to help support the growth of a number of internal and external systems allowing for data analysis and providing key data in internal analytics dashboards. Over the course of my tenure my work encompassed a number of technological areas with a focus mainly web technologies and data pipelines. The skills and specifics of the job have included; Node js, Angular, React, MongoDB, Kubernetes, CircleCI, Go as well as some small applications for machine learning using Python. Other work included collecting requirements for new internal projects and liaising across business areas.

Software Engineer

I joined IPL in 2014 having completed a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering. During my time at IPL I have quickly gained a comprehensive understanding of working in the software industry as well as learning to use a number of programming languages and tools in order to work effectively in a role as a developer. My training has taken place from the ground up building a basis in object-oriented enterprise programming helping to grow confidence in my abilities as a software engineer and my understanding of large scale, complex solutions. I have experienced roles in user and system testing and analysis before gaining developer experience in both Java and C#. Work has taken place across several fields, from transport to finance, and has had me involved in building server solutions as well as participating in front end web development using jQuery. I am keen to continue building my skills as a full stack developer with a focus on Javascript technologies.
