Accountable for managing and delivering new sales production from national consulting houses, which required detailed knowledge of consulting house business initiatives, purchasing behavior, sophisticated total rewards solutions and industry trends. My teams and I worked closely with large employers to use employee health data to tailor innovative solutions designed to improve workforce health and productivity and the long-term affordability and return on investment for corporate sponsored health care plans. Under my leadership, BCBSMA experienced unprecedented growth in national major accounts, increasing medical members by 12 percent to nearly 1 million members and growing dental members by 17 percent to 450,000 members. I also achieved an impressive 98 percent year-over-year client retention level. I was responsible for setting market direction and strategy with particular focus in leading corporate initiatives that advanced consumer directed health care solutions; consumer transparency and employer analytic tools; industry specific product and network solutions in the higher education, life science and hospital sectors; and technologies that assist employers in optimizing Massachusetts and national health care reform. In leading my team, we brought significant innovations to market including “ReportBlue” a web based, client self-service analytic tool, “Care Concierge” a premium nurse care management program for high-risk members, and “HigherEd Blue” the first to market insured program designed specifically for colleges and universities.
