I built a new office to engage the community of Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter region with the environment by recruiting volunteers to work on Environmental Projects that I developed and implemented. I used and developed my networking skills to engage new sources of volunteers and funding and to build relationships with key stakeholders such as Local Government, Aboriginal Land Councils, Local Business owners and residents. I lead teams in the field to produce real environmental enhancement whilst ensuring operational targets were met. I compiled reports and photos used for reporting to stakeholders and management as well as media releases. I allocated resources including staff and vehicles accordingly to meet logistical and operational requirements. I engaged in competitive grant applications of over $100,000 for tree planting projects to help protect threatened species.I was responsible for all safety and hazard assessments of my staff and teams and engaged in internal investigations of incidents and disciplinary matters.I personally have planted well over 10,000 trees, bushes, shrubs, herbs and grasses, have good knowledge of Australian weeds and natives, have educated Australians and International Volunteers of all ages in plant identification and bush regeneration practices and have regenerated over 100 Ha of riparian zone, coastal sand dunes and inland forests
