Cardiac, Pulmonary and Metabolic group and individual services provided under supervision of Accredited Exercises Physiologists. -Conducted initial assessments including 12 lead ECG Bruce and Modified Bruce protocols, Spirometry, 6 minute walk test and 30 second sit to stand test, for clients to begin individual treatment or enter into the group exercise classes -Prescribed exercise interventions and supervised exercise. -Referred to other allied health professionals when necessary -Maintained patient progress notes and wrote GP reports with any results or concerns that would benefit the GP’s treatment plan for the client.

As part of my Masters degree I completed a one month practicum in the Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation at Rockhampton Base Hospital. My duties included; -Pre and post program assessments -Prescription and supervision of group exercise classes -Presenting group education sessions. The patients included; people recovering recovering from recent surgery such as CABG, stenting, and ICD implantation, patients recovering from acute cardiac events such as Myocardial Infarction and people diagnosed with chronic heart failure. My most valuable of the many placements I completed during my study and confirmed my aspiration to specialise in this area of Exercise Physiology.
