A key achievement is the improvements in many key skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making, analytical skills and resilience. I have observed an improvement in my technical ability, particularly in western blotting and pipetting accuracy etc. With regards to the western blotting, I have developed the critical analysis and skills necessary for troubleshooting/optimising the methodology. Furthermore, I attended some keynote lectures from leading researchers in the physiological science field. This was very inspiring and encouraging to see the impact of future research. Additionally, I attended the University of Leeds FBS postgraduate symposium and was able observe the standard and delivery of posters and talks that was expected of PhD students. Show less
