Our goal was to provide a snapshot of the City of Guelph during the COVID-19 pandemic and tell some stories about the community response and to highlight the ongoing health crisis. I provided daily COVID-19 updates in the form of a series of Piktochart data visualizations and I covered the responses and events of the local post-secondary institution. • Orientation Facilitator
      • Nov 2016 - Oct 2017

The Orientation team is a group of six student staff who plan the orientation week each year. Guelph's centralized orientation means all department, faculty, and student group events are funneled through the Orientation Facilitators. In my role on the Orientation Team, I was tasked with logistics. This meant booking over 500 events, finding and scheduling space and resources to have all of those events run, and coordinating with other members of the team to confirm that there was no scheduling conflict. This role is heavy in event management, group coordination, and independent work. I also had the opportunity to lead a volunteer recruitment program that garnered about 1100 volunteers, I created a training program for the orientation volunteers, and scheduled their shifts across the week. I organized a one-day festival that had over 6000 attendees and included musical acts such as The Kents, The Beaches, and DJ Shub. Show less
