Age Partnership, I worked as an annuity specialist working closely with people coming to retirement age to try and source them the best possible deal and return on their pension savings. I would scope the market on their behalf taking into account the information they had given me to try to maximise their funds. I had to speak with brokers around the United Kingdom to try and negotiate for the customer.Within this role I had to follow strict guidelines set in force by the Financial Conduct Authority. Not only did I speak with the customer from their initial enquiry but oversaw the entire process of transforming a pension pot into an income for the customer. With the market forever changing I had keep up to date with changing legislations and laws to ensure that I wasn't miss selling the concept of an annuity to the customer, I worked closely with financial advisers as I wasn't able to offer the advice however I could take the information and then pass it on to the IFA. Anything from a drawdown pension to a SIP scheme could of been discussed.
