Part of the larger MAHLE Group, a tier 1 automotive supplier with 71,000 employees and 172 locations in more than 30 different countries. ● Worked alongside a team of 3 research engineers on several government funded engine research projects. ● Increased project engine build efficiency by ~30% by creating an organized collection of parts corresponding to the build manual, resulting in an easy-to-follow process for engine technicians. ● Assisted in engine dyno test cell setup by installing thermal couples, coolant lines, pressure transducers, computer systems, etc. enabling accurate data collection. ● Processed engine test data using DIAdem and UniPlot to display informative graphs of combustion results. ● Conducted in-depth internal research on topics such as electric vehicle battery design and cooling solutions, lean burn natural gas compressor engines, and hydrogen fuel cells to inform team members. ● Worked with a group of 10 design engineers, in charge of my own subsystem, on the team's largest multimillion-dollar project. ● Designed a prototype tuned mass damper (TMD) for the project using SolidWorks and presented the concept to ~75 people during a design review meeting, which included the customer and project investors. ● Used SolidWorks frequency simulation tool to design and build a tabletop model of the TMD using a CNC mill, manual lathe, and 3D printer to prove the concept. ● Independently formed and managed an international supplier relationship for outsourcing advanced vibration simulation and design solutions creating a valuable connection for the project.
