At IMP we help brands and organisations to engage with people in powerful new ways through social media and mobile. We develop effective social strategies for businesses and help them create highly engaging content for Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms, as well as monitoring and acting on the things their customers are saying about them online. We also provide businesses with secure internal social platforms and tools to transform the way people within the organisation work and communicate - creating new approaches to sharing information and allowing people across different teams and locations to collaborate more effectively. Roles and responsibilities: • Surfacing and analysing new trends, talking points and opportunities, especially on TikTok, and producing regular newsletters for clients across a range of industries • Monitoring social noise for a high-profile UK retailer from a service and brand perspective; flagging reputation issues to their PR team; research and horizon scanning around wider industry developments • Cross-channel publishing and advertising, using tools like Facebook Creator Studio and Creative Hub to set up posts and Ads Manager to target people based on their location and interests • Cross-channel performance analysis and reporting to keep PR and Marketing teams informed about audience engagement levels and reaction to organic and paid social posts • Configuring automated live feeds and searches to help internal and external teams to more effectively monitor social and news media noise around key words and topics, source positive brand stories and customer advocacy, and track competitor activity Show less

Content Creator & Book Reviewer
-
May 2011 - Aug 2019
Over my eight years of making book review videos, as well as occasional educational and travel content throughout my university degree and year abroad, I managed to gain more than 4,500 subscribers to my channel and had the opportunity to review advanced reader copies (ARCs) for publishing houses including Penguin Random House, Simon and Schuster, and Bloomsbury. This meant the marketing and publicity teams regularly sent me free books in exchange for honest reviews which I shared on YouTube and across other social channels. I was in close contact with the publishers, always met their deadlines, and they kept coming back to me due to my enthusiastic, professional and trustworthy approach. Show less

English Language Assistant Student Ambassador
-
Sep 2018 - Jun 2019
After a successful year abroad in the Canary Islands working as an English Language Assistant on a placement organised by the British Council, I spent the next academic year working as an ambassador for the programme. My role was to "inspire and motivate future generations of students and graduates to take part in this unique experience". This involved distributing information about the programme and sharing my own experiences (in talks and Q&A sessions at my university as well as on my social media) to help spread the word about what the British Council has to offer students and graduates. English Language Assistant
-
Oct 2017 - May 2018
As part of my undergraduate degree in Modern Languages and Cultures, I had to spend a year abroad in a Spanish-speaking country to improve my linguistic skills and develop intercultural competence. I worked 16 hours a week as an English Language Assistant at IES Poeta Tomás Morales Castellano, a secondary school in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This involved working alongside the main class teachers to give pupils between the ages of 12 and 18 the opportunity to improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills with the help of a native English speaker. I helped in English language classes as well as classes that were part of the school’s bilingual programme (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning), including music, technology, classics, history and geography. I had to quickly develop effective working relationships with a team of over fifteen teachers, who I helped with their lesson preparation and on extracurricular activities like visits to museums and art galleries. In the classroom I had to communicate clearly with the students and adapt my teaching styles to suit the needs of the groups I was working with, as they were all of different ages and abilities. Some pupils were initially quite shy, but the more I interacted with them, the more comfortable they became. I found it extremely rewarding to see these young people growing in confidence and wanting to practice their speaking skills with me and believe my kind, personable interactions helped bring out the best in them. This unique experience allowed me to develop a wide range of transferable skills, including planning and organisational skills, confidence in presentations, patience when working with people from different backgrounds, and the ability to quickly adapt to unexpected situations in the workplace and beyond. Student Vlogger
-
Jun 2016 - Dec 2016
The Student Room is the UK’s largest online student forum where young people can share their academic knowledge and experiences to help others make informed education choices, get help with their studies and feel supported throughout student life. I was contacted by the Head of Student Marketing with an offer to get involved in a project to reboot their YouTube channel. I made a series of advice videos on educational topics including: how to revise for English A-Level; how to choose the right university; how to write a personal statement; and how to write university essays. I always went out of my way to give students much-needed support and point them in the right direction with their studies. Show less

Alongside taking my A-Levels, I volunteered as a teaching assistant in Year 7 and Year 8 French and Spanish classes in my secondary school. My role involved supporting the main class teachers by answering pupils' questions in the classroom, giving them feedback on their work, and carrying out practice speaking tests with them in the run-up to their end-of-term and end-of-year exams.
