Kop Hill Climb - Marketing and Promotion Team
-
Sep 2015 - Present
Each year I take part in the Kop Hill climb, which is a vintage car and motorcycle event. Hundreds of people bring along vehicles to race up the hill while thousands of people pay to watch and all proceeds go to charity. It has grown to the point where big car companies such as Porsche, BMW, Bentley and Ferrari are involved with big stands. My Job as part of the team is to assist in organising and setting up a stand for Bucks PGL. This year in 2019 we had 20 interesting vehicles on our stand including some of my own projects. We had a big stand with TV’s broadcasting the hill climb. This helped me develop my ability to help people and complete tasks required as a member of a team. It also helped me develop my social skills talking to people during the event and convincing them to support our charity and event.

Technical Instructor
-
Jan 2004 - Sep 2019
I am an assistant coach and I often take classes of up to forty children for one or two hour sessions. I have been training in the sport for eleven years and I began teaching and working for my club 6 years ago. Judo teaches respect and in my teaching, part of the process is to impress this on my students. I have gained a great deal of people management experience in this Job through learning to deal with challenging students and their parents. I have to manage young children of varying ages and ensure they receive and retain the information I am giving them. I also ensure that they leave with a definitive development of their skills and this must be achieved in the hour we have with them each week. Therefore effective planning and strategy is essential to achieve continual improvement in the students.

Having completed a work placement with Xpress back in 2012, I was asked by the company if I would be interested in some part time work, on-going from 2013. Xpress had not considered email marketing at this point and I was invited to run a small project on a part time basis to conduct a trial using e-mail marketing techniques for their business. I was given the title of e-mail Marketing Project Manager and tasked to experiment with various methods of customer contact list acquisition and also with evaluation of an effective e-mail marketing platform. The objective being to achieve more business leads through effective marketing.

Arla Milk Bottling Plant
-
Jul 2015 - Jan 2016
At a social function, I was lucky enough to meet Christopher Bradley (Senior Vice President of Arla UK) who was in charge of the building of new the factory in Aylesbury. Chris was impressed with my enthusiasm and organised a tour of the whole factory and the opportunity to work alongside his senior team in the management of the entire facility for a two-day period. I was delighted to have this opportunity and found it awe-inspiring. This was an amazing opportunity to get real world management experience and see first hand a large organisations management and facilities. One thought that really struck a chord was in reducing the distance a tanker travels on site there was a cost saving of £80k per year to the business in fuel and time. The ARLA factory in Aylesbury is the largest milk bottling plant in all of Europe. Chris has now moved to a more senior position at Muller Wiseman and I have been offered the opportunity to complete some more work experience with him there.
