Designed a new medical device where I was primarily responsible for preventing mechanical failure of the device. Involved heavy utilization of ANSYS FEA software as well as physical testing of components. Prototyped components produced by 3D printing, injection molding, and machining. Used Timoshenko beam theory to create a Matlab based iterative solver for defined failure modes. Designed an actuation box while keeping FDA and other standards in mind.
