During my internship at Bestnest Inc, I had the opportunity to work in their IT department as a Web Developer. While there, I was able to help develop the software used to host their public and internal websites. This was my first professional experience and I can confidently say I learned a tremendous amount. I also was able to feel like I added value to the team with the code I developed and the solutions I created. Overall, my experience at Bestnest helped me have a better grasp on the things I have learned from my college courses. This internship has indeed helped better prepare me for future career jobs. While working at Subaru of Beechmont as an Automotive Lube Technician, I took it upon myself to show initiative by creating a full-on website to be used as the method of tracking all of the Lube Technician efficiencies regarding worked-on vehicles that came into the service drive. Even though I was only going to temporarily be a Lube Technician while I was working on my college degree, I decided to take this opportunity to learn how to make a website for this application. I saw this opportunity as a way to gain experience on how to make a website from the ground up but it also would allow me to help streamline a process I know was ineffective since it pertained to my current work position. My Lube Technician position provided me with the perfect perspective and knowledge on how to make this website work more efficiently. In addition, I was able to work with a fellow coworker who helped provide feedback and operational features to be incorporated into this website. Overall, the experience gained from the development of this website has provided me a valuable understanding of coding technologies that will help me in future career jobs. Show less
