My specific role involves the excavation and analysis of human skeletal remains including: conducting estimations of age, sex and stature, identification of palaeopathologies and skeletal variances, collection of physical samples for isotope and DNA analysis and the application of digital photography and photogrammetry for recording.

  Member of the research team for the 'Egyptian Mummies Audience Evaluation Research Project'. This collaborative project conducted by the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and Macquarie University in association with the British Museum ‘Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives' exhibition seeks to provide new insights into the ways in which visitors conceive and react to the display of ancient Egyptian mummified remains, within the broader context of the collection, curation and display of human remains in cultural institutions.This project involved surveying in excess of 150 visitors to the 'Ancient Lives' exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences. This role was specifically focussed on the British Museum 'Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives' exhibition. Tasks included object research and content development for a selection of Egyptian artefacts that formed the MAAS Egyptian antiquities showcase which accompanied the 'Ancient Lives' exhibition, editing and proofreading exhibition labels, the selection of objects for the official exhibition floor guide, assisting the MAAS photographer with the production of photographs used in the MAAS Egyptian antiquities show case. Further to this, my role involved broader collection management tasks including the development of object statements, production and history notes, object valuations and significance statements for objects within the MAAS archaeology and fashion collections using the EMu collection management system.
