Social Work Intern at Montfort Care (Kreta Ayer Family Services)
-
May 2021 - Jul 2021
I was responsible for case management, needs assessments, programme development and programme execution. I worked closely with the centre director, social workers and fellow interns. I joined Kreta Ayer Family Services (KAFS) in a difficult period as the organisation had to transition to Phase 2 Heightened Alert. We faced many challenges due to the frequent changes and new regulations. The organisation transitioned to work-from-home arrangements and we had to adapt to contacting clients remotely. Smooth communication channels among colleagues and fellow interns contributed to a well-ordered transition. It was crucial to remain dynamic and adaptable to the new normal of utilising virtual platforms as the main mode of communication. Show less

I have gained great exposure for case management through shadowing social workers during in-agency sessions and home visits, case conference, hospital visit, prison visit and youth court visit.
