I teach grammar, listening, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and pronunciation at a private language school in Maryland. I am responsible for guiding my students through the course material while also expanding the lessons with my own material and improvisation. I teach four separate classes to students from a variety of age groups and cultural backgrounds. Many of my students are native Spanish speakers and have recently immigrated from Central or South America. I use Spanish to supplement instruction with the beginner level students. The more advanced students are fully immersed in an English learning environment with minimal reliance on their native language. I also have experience teaching students from Eastern Europe, Russia, East Asia, Portugal, and Brazil. As an English teacher I have developed my patience, empathy, public speaking, and improvisation as well as my communication and problem solving skills. Show less
