  I am responsible for ensuring the consistent achievement of the mission of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. That is to; serve as the center for scientific, artistic, cultural and educational activities to enhance the region’s quality of life and economic vitality. As Whitaker Center’s Exhibition Manager I am responsible for the following tasks: Planning, developing and executing of new exhibitions and yearly and semi-yearly installations and de-installations of travelling exhibits Detail interior museum maintenance and space planning, material specifying and fixture design Organize, design and build routine and special exhibits Network with local and national Art Museums to gather art for selection for the “Curved Wall Gallery”. Attend exhibits, programs receptions and presentations Prepare and archive all required documents, graphics, and videos for upcoming exhibitions Coordinate and ensure that exhibits/lectures are properly described and illustrated in a timely manner on Whitaker Center’s website Attend monthly and impromptu Art Committee/Lecture series meetings and other meetings Work with Education Director to coordinate Educational activities that tie in with Science Center Exhibits Show less
