      • Helped with Weight Loss/Walking group to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle. This included having patients come in and handling Fitbits which helped with creating an incentive to become more active by getting 100,000 a week. Another intern and I were also able to get an instructor to do Zumba once a week for the women to experience another type of physical activity they may not be other wise able to. • Another intern and I presented health related issues that the patients might need help with overcoming. The presentations were done once a month and were first shown a powerpoint and then a demonstration followed. The presentations were done on healthy eating, how to relieve stress, the importance of physical activity, and the importance of getting enough sleep. • Another intern and I helped developed a self assessment survey and community resource brochure for the Jack McConnell Wellness Institute. This would help doctors and the future Wellness director. • I helped on the clinical side of the clinc by taking vitals for patients (Height, weight, blood pressure, temperature etc.). During the internship I was able to observe and helped the doctors and nurses in anything they need which sometimes included with having drug tests done and receiving results back to the doctors, delivering the test results to the local hospitals and other duties. • I helped my supervisor with the results received in the morning and helping organizing patients who need to come in to get tests done or calling woman patients to come in to have a mammogram test done to help screen for any breast health concerns. • Demonstrated data management and data entry Show less
