At Challenge Lab, we utilized the potential of students as drivers of neutral discussions over a sustainable future. We gathered stakeholders from industry, academia and public sector to collaboratively understand gaps between our desirable future and the actual development trends. With our Master's theses we helped to influence the area of Gothenburg to understand the missing attention on certain development areas. We helped to initiate solutions (scenarios, strategies, services etc) by collaborating with the observed stakeholders. My research project investigated the business network aspects of multi-storey timber construction in Sweden. The spread of construction innovations, such as modern timber structures, require changes in supply networks within the well-established system of concrete and steel building. Drivers and barriers of changing the networks are discussed, based on examples in Sweden. The main value of the study is a set of proposals to utilize respective drivers and overcome barriers in Gothenburg. http://studentarbeten.chalmers.se/publication/240329-the-impact-of-sustainable-materials-on-construction-innovation-the-case-of-timber-in-gothenburg Show less
