CK (Carla Kay) Barlow

Ivo and I appeared together in an improvised concert as part of a concert held at STEIM Labs in Amsterdam. Outside of performance, he provided a demonstration of his performance setup. I found him to be an inventive and thoughtful live-performance creator of beautiful soundscapes.

    • NOW

NOW is inspired by system thinking as a way to observe and analyse a situation as well as to act creatively. We use and combine our expertise in performance art, movement research, spatial design practice, coding and instrument design as well as our pedagogical experience. We offer a different perspective to these questions by creating performative systems that multiply, magnify or revert cycles of cause and effect. Monoták is a collective of 10 composers who first came together in 2012 to create a broad range of events, from contemporary classical concerts to sound installations and sonic happenings. We have a DIY approach and are actively seeking new relationships with audiences and colleagues inside and outside the music world. Often performing ourselves, we have very diverse musical styles with influences from jazz and electronic improvisation to pop and classical.
