Conducted a stroke study which consist of both prospective and retrospective component based upon WHO's STEPs Stroke Surveillance Program (Step 1. Risk Factors) . The title of my dissertation was " Pattern of Risk Factors, Aspect of Time and Choice of Treatment At a Community Hospital in South India"The key issues addressed were, frequency of risk factors, time delay in admission from the onset of stroke warning symptoms, pattern of clinical investigation ( imaging and pathological), relation between physical activity and stroke outcomes and choice of management at a community based hospital catering the healthcare need of low socioeconomic strata. Apart from the laboratories, I have attended a structured lecture series which aimed to provide an insight of the concept behind neurophysiological research. As a post-graduate intern at the Department of Neurophysiology, I was exposed to various neurophysiological laboratories of the department, which include, Human Sleep Lab, Autonomic Function & Behavioral Unit, histology lab. During the period of research, my main responsibilities include, collection of the blood and tissue sample from the hospital unit. Perform DNA sequencing for analyzing the mutation on the target SNPs and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for the protein expression analysis.
