      As EFL/IBDP teacher at Hosei Kokusai High School, I am responsible for teaching a variety of courses for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students, including English B for the IBDP.       To measure the English ability of its employees, Mercari uses an in-house speaking test called MECT (Mercari English Communication Test). In my first position as a test scorer, I was responsible for transcribing and scoring test recordings in terms of grammar usage, vocabulary and spoken communication. My responsibilities included: - transcribing spoken output of non-native speakers; - accurately identifying grammar patterns and their accurate usage; - rating test taker's English ability using the CEFR standards; - writing comments that reflect the strongest points and the areas to improve the test-taker performance, giving actionable feedback in the form of next-actions; - meeting agreed-upon deadlines; - actively making suggestions about how to improve future iterations of the test.
