Worked as a part of a 10-person crew tasked with reducing fuels throughout tracts of land such tracts along neighborhoods & nature preserves. Surrounding the City of Austin. Project work focused on fuel mitigation with the creation of fuel breaks and removing brush from sites. Used and maintained hand tools such as McLeods, Maddoxs and Pulaskis. Gas powered tools were regularly used and maintained such as chainsaws, brush trimmers and weed wackers. Chainsaw maintenance was done by regularly cleaning out saws, routine checks, cleaning filters and replacing or sharpening chains with round files. In addition, all CDC Guidelines for Covid-19 were followed such as wearing masks in closed spaces and within 6 feet of others. Working outdoors in rugged terrain and adverse weather conditions.
