      Led a 5 Star Healthgrades rated (2002, 2003, 2005) program with three cardiac and vascular catheterization labs, non-invasive cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, CV research and a cardiology nurse practitioner service that has annual combined revenues of $87 million. Annual catheterization lab volumes exceeded 2,200 cases. Non-invasive cardiology increased to nearly 30,000 procedures. Cardiac rehab volumes increased to nearly 10,000 annual visits. Also, the hospital increased open heart surgeries to nearly 200 surgeries. Completed a $4.5 million expansion and renovation of the Cardiology department on time and on budget in 2007.Co-chaired the hospital’s successful application to become the first hospital in Kansas City to have an accredited Chest Pain Center in 2004 and 2007 (Cycle Two Accreditation). In 2005 and 2007, led in the successful application for the hospital to become designated a United Healthcare Premium cardiac specialty center. In addition, the echocardiography lab applied and received accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). Also, completed a two year journey to achieve the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines – Coronary Artery Disease, Sustaining Performance Achievement Award in 2006 and 2007. Led the Cardiovascular Service Line, with executive leadership, to rebuild the Service Line when all 20 of the cardiologists (12 FTEs) on the Medical Staff left the hospital in 2002. Led in recruiting 11 cardiologists within nine months of the first cardiology group’s departure. Updated the Cardiology department through $3.1 million in capital improvements in 2002 and 2003.
