I did a weeks’ worth of work experience within an independent art gallery. I reorganised the whole mailing system as well as interacting with customers and learning about the gallery environment. I spent time contacting customers via email and telephone, and also learning how to interact with artists. Since, I have run the gallery on my own and have organised upcoming exhibitions and researched and contacted new artists. I did a weeks’ worth of work experience within an independent art gallery. I had a week’s worth of work experience at the gallery on Vyner Street. I helped the team work towards their opening show of Sophie Derrick on the Thursday. I worked on producing labels, organising tubes for limited edition prints. I also worked greatly on the website side of the company creating banners for their collection pages, re-tagging works so the correct works popped up with keywords in the search engine and I also uploaded and published new works of art to their website. I had an exciting week with the gallery with a great variety of tasks. I worked with all the team individually and they taught me several new skills to boost my opportunities in the arts career. Working with Laura I helped create a new moving brochure for the relocation of their gallery to the Surrey Hills. I also worked on creating half page adverts and invitations for upcoming events. Laura taught me about Publisher and its ease in creating these designs, previously I would have always used Word but I have now seen the importance of Publisher in the arts industry. Working with Lorraine I was taught how to produce e-newsletters in a creative and aesthetic style. This newsletter unlike my previous projects on publisher was created on an online database. I worked with templates to create a ‘Spring’ e-newsletter. The test email was key in order to check that all the links were working correctly and unfortunately they were not, so this led to careful checking and re-adjustments. I also worked with ArtNet and became accquainted with the website. I acknowledged the changes that needed to be adjusted in order to correlate Belgravia's website with the works on ArtNet. I thoroughly enjoyed my week of work experience with the team. Everybody was welcoming and I learnt a lot, even though they thought I did not!

I worked in the pub for a year on the floor and gained several customer skills. I worked behind the bar and in the restaurant, being placed as duty manager on occasions. We learnt to work as a team especially on busy weekends. I worked in the pub for a year on the floor and gained several customer skills. I spent a week with this Interior Design company. During the week I worked on several projects, from researching wine cellars to staircases. I worked with the team during meetings with Armani CASA, who travelled over from Milan, and spent two days on site recording notes and taking minutes.
