Izzy is a rare gem -- combining an expert command of software development and technical knowledge, an ability to communicate clearly and directly, and the interpersonal skills required to manage teams successfully. I worked with Izzy at Success Academy negotiating vendor contracts on projects he initiated and managed. He devised creative solutions to expand and improve of Success Academy's learning environment, researched and identified vendors that could help bring his vision to reality, and then managed those relationships with skill and diplomacy.
Chelsea Hernández
I met Izzy when he joined Success Academy as the company's first Business Analyst. On the Learning & Development team (the Education Institute), Izzy was a key player in implementing a new learning management system, given his expertise in the area. In addition, he was solely responsible for implementing a learning record store, a database that would allow tracking of learning analytics. Despite his heavy workload, he remained accessible to all employees, answering any questions regarding the transitions we were making as an organization to these new platforms. He went above and beyond to help other teams understand the learning technology transition and the broader vision: a responsibility he graciously took on outside of his role. Thanks to Izzy's knowledge and guidance, I am now confidently working in new roles as a learning technology lead -- something that would not be possible without the guidance I received from Izzy. Izzy was always a joy to work with. He was an upbeat team player, a generous resource with a wealth of knowledge, and a strong leader. His role demanded a lot of hard work and Izzy remained dedicated to leading this enterprise-wide learning technology transition virtually on his own. Izzy was always the first person in the office and the last to leave, always remaining a "workhorse" while still offering guidance and knowledge-sharing outside of his role's responsibilities. I am so grateful to have worked with Izzy and I know the rest of the organization is as well!
