During my tenure with the institution, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with and witness Professor Hernandez make significant contributions to SUNY Westchester that have made it a 21st century high performing institution. She is truly an invaluable asset to the Academic Counseling Office, Campus Community, and most importantly to the students. All of her accomplishments are founded on her desire to continuously evolve through education and her exemplary leadership skills. Iskra has been a great support in my growth and development as a professional. I reported directly to Iskra for over 4 years, and worked along side of her for an additional 4. As an adjunct, it was often a struggle to feel "involved" in the department. Iskra took special interest in the adjuncts to foster inclusion and create a positive atmosphere.
