The Prerak will play a key role to catalyze action and support the district Collectorate in effective implementation and monitoring of POSHAN Abhiyaan in the assigned district. The scope of work includes: • The Prerak will report to and work with the District Magistrate/ Collector’s office at the District and the Department of Women and Child Development at the State Level, playing an active role in all aspects of Government engagement to improve the nutrition status of the district. • Work in accordance to the guidelines of POSHAN Abhiyaan and extend support in the following activities: o Plan and organize community based events as envisaged under the Abhiyaan in the assigned district o Support in identifying and developing Convergence Action Plan for the district through inclusion of all relevant stakeholders such as government departments, civil society organizations, SHGs, etc. o Periodic analysis and evaluation of ICDS data in the states where Common Application Software (CAS) is present and support in the roll out of ICDS- CAS software in the states where it is yet to be rolled out o Act as catalysts to make POSHAN Abhiyaan a people’s movement through Jan Andolan o Periodic monitoring of the objectives and indicators identified under the Abhiyaan. • Undertake data analysis of existing nutrition profile of the district and formulate action plans at the district and block level, and support in the implementation of innovative strategies to alleviate bottlenecks identified to improve nutritional outcomes of the assigned districts Show less POSHAN Abhiyan aims to combat the problems of undernutrition among women, adolescent girls, and children through improved monitoring, capacity building, and effective convergence at the district level.
