  Researching and developing metamodelling tools to be used as surrogates for complex, computationally expensive simulation models. This area is aligned with the broad Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) vision of developing a platform for horizontal integration of various manufacturing routines. With resource intensive heavy simulation tools generating enough data, the surrogates are used primarily for low cost parameter estimation and design optimization.
