The COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected the exclusion of menstrual hygiene and basic sexual hygiene. But, does the marginalised community know enough about the products… Show more “Whatever the problem, be part of the solution” In India, a lack of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) facilities is the primary reason for over 23 million young girls dropping out of school each year, affecting over 25% of the global population, or approximately 1.8 billion women and girls of reproductive age (15-49 years). The COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected the exclusion of menstrual hygiene and basic sexual hygiene. But, does the marginalised community know enough about the products used? The sheer lack of knowledge and hygiene inspired the "Surkh" campaign, working towards MHM and SRHR (sexual and reproductive health) and rights, which were launched in collaboration with Pee Safe and Haqse Period. Collaboration with various gynaecologists on dispelling myths about menstruation to various NPOs and organisations that strive toward sustainability in MHM as well as the same ethos. We hosted Alfaz, a fundraiser to help underprivileged women in Delhi gain access to proper feminine hygiene products and become more knowledgeable about their own bodies. We also held several drives throughout Delhi, where we held sessions with diverse groups of women and performed surveys.
