Molecular profiling of FFPE tumor tissue samples to determine the molecular characteristics of the tumor. Personalized medicine is often based on specific mutations found in these tumors. These therapies are often used for the treatment of lung, colon, breast and ovarian cancer. The lab also investigates whether multiple tumors are clonally related, we perform Lynch diagnostics and assist in the molecular grading of neurological cancers. To keep up with new developments in the medical world, new assays are frequently tested and implemented. Overview of techniques most used by me: * Next- generation sequencing (IonTorrent platform) e.g. Mutation and Copy Number analysis, Tumor Mutational Burden (TMB) analysis. * RNA sequencing (ArcherDx) e.g. gene fusion analysis * Lynch syndrome diagnostics e.g. IHC, MSI analysis, promotor methylation (MS-MLPA) * Bisulfite conversion based assays e.g. methylationarray, methylation specific PCR.
