  I am the first scribe in craniofacial surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital. Noting my own difficulties learning to scribe in a new department, I decided to write a procedure for future scribes to follow so they could quickly learn to scribe efficiently. My procedure has been passed to scribes as part of their training. My personal conviction is one should always leave a role better off than when they started.   I interviewed patients in the women’s clinic about the connection between breast cancer and the microbiome. I then recruited women diagnosed with breast cancer who were interested in participating in the microbiome clinical trial and informed them of the sampling procedure using kits that our lab assembled.
