    • Pediatric Craniofacial Surgical Scribe
      • Jun 2021 - Jun 2022

I am the first scribe in craniofacial surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital. Noting my own difficulties learning to scribe in a new department, I decided to write a procedure for future scribes to follow so they could quickly learn to scribe efficiently. My procedure has been passed to scribes as part of their training. My personal conviction is one should always leave a role better off than when they started. I hope by laying the groundwork for future scribes, they will be able to create an efficient, cooperative healthcare experience to maximize patient satisfaction and wellbeing. Show less

I then recruited women diagnosed with breast cancer who were interested in participating in the microbiome clinical trial and informed them of the sampling procedure using kits that our lab assembled. I coordinated with the doctors on site to consent patients into the study. I interviewed patients in the women’s clinic about the connection between breast cancer and the microbiome.
