Engineers Without Borders aims to promote, teach and implement sustainable technical solutions in developing countries which can be successfully adopted by local companies. The goal is to support local organizations and help them with technical knowledge in order to realize a long-term and sustainable impact. As a volunteer, I take part in the structural team and use my knowledge and creativity to help with the design and execution of building projects. In the academic year of 2020-2021, I was the chairperson of WTOS Delft, the cycling association of the TU Delft. In this year, we had to cope with corona measures and be creative with training sessions and social events. I learned to adapt to an ever-changing situation and make the best out of it. With the team we built, in collaboration with the student team of the University of Twente, an eco-friendly car and competed in the annual Shell Eco Marathon Europe.
