Vice Director
-
Jun 2019 - May 2020
I am delighted to take on the role of Vice Director for Kaizoku-Con: UCC's annual Anime, Sci-fi, and Gaming Convention, after having such a successful time working with them last year. I am honoured to be working with a team of dedicated, inspirational and passionate people, as I continue to learn so much from them in this new role. Already, we have successfully organised Kaizoku-Con's annual small meet-up event; the Cosplay Picnic, which was held in Fitzgerald's Park on the 20th of July. Here, we create a free, safe and fun space for cosplay enthusiasts and fans of the convention to meet and get inspired! We ran a successful Facebook Advertising Campaign that reached almost 10K people, along with 357 people interested in the Facebook Event. This year was the biggest turnout yet for the Cosplay Picnic, with 100+ attendees, so this year is already off to a great start! I will update this description as this role progresses. Show less

Social Media Manager
-
May 2018 - Mar 2020
This Marketing role has not only given me meaningful experience in the Marketing and Advertising world for small businesses, it has also introduced me to the world of Autism, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Neurodiversity, among others. My roles include, Managing the company’s Social Media accounts, Creating posts and content, Creating Online Advertisements, Photo editing on Photoshop, Communicating with customers and followers and Answering any questions they have, Research and planning, Creating reports, Emailing business partners and customers, Monitoring the website, Suggestions for Improvement, Taking minutes during meetings, and basically helping wherever else is needed. I am enjoying this role immensely as I get to work closely with the Managing Director and the main Marketing team. This job has given me an incredible insight into Entrepreneurship and Management, as well as improving my Marketing and Communication skills. I got to represent company along with the Managing Director at Cork Autism Conference 2018 in September where we had a stand to demonstrate our products and communicate with potential customers. I also represented the company at Enterprise Ireland and Google’s “Staying Ahead” Digital Roadshow in Limerick this August, where I learned about Google Analytics, advice for social media marketing and online business tools for small companies. This role is extremely fulfilling as the products MohuDesigns make are specifically made to help people with sensory processing difficulties. Hearing the positive reviews and seeing first-hand how our products have helped people is extremely rewarding. UCC Scribble Society

Co-Founder & Events Officer
-
Oct 2018 - May 2019
Co-founding Scribble Soc. has been one of the greatest experiences of my time at UCC so far. I have met wonderful people who I know will be my friends for life. I’m so thankful that I’ve been given the chance to bring my business and social media marketing skills to the society as well as my passion for Arts & Crafts to UCC. I have given it my all to see this new Society succeed. This experience has helped me so much personally; as it continues to improve my confidence, problem-solving, public speaking and interpersonal skills. Every week I look forward to organising and coming up with new events, especially our fun craft workshops. Helping to make our committee’s dream of creating a new UCC Art Society come to life has been one of the most rewarding experiences (albeit challenging at times), and one that I will always look fondly back on. I’m extremely excited for the future of Scribble Soc. and I’m so proud of everything we have achieved so far! Show less

Cosplay Coordinator

Oct 2018 - May 2019
I had a key role in this year's UCC anime, gaming, pop-culture and sci-fi Convention, “Kaizoku-Con”, which hosts over 1,500 people annually. I worked with a diverse group of students throughout my second year in the organisation, promotion and coordination of this convention. This role pushed me out of my comfort zone through managing and hosting the main events: the Costume Contest and the Talent Show, on stage in UCC’s largest lecture theatre. I also managed and created content for the Instagram account during the convention and in the run-up to, working with a group of others. This role greatly enhanced my problem solving, communication and public-speaking skills. It was an extremely fulfilling experience that I will fondly look back on! This year we raised over €10,000 for the LauraLynn Children's Hospice. Show less

UCC Music Society
-
County Cork, Ireland
-
First Year Representative
-
Sep 2017 - May 2018
This position greatly improved my Teamwork and Communication skills and it gave me first-hand Music Management experience. As ‘First Year Rep’, I represented the first year Music Society students of UCC and brought forward their concerns and ideas to the committee. I also helped with event planning, coming up with event ideas, contributing in weekly meetings, setting up for events and helping out wherever else was needed. In Semester One, we organised and ran two open mic nights along with our successful Singer-Songwriter Competition in Cyprus Avenue in Cork City that ran over 3 weeks. In the second Semester, we ran two more open mic nights as well as the very popular Battle Of The Bands, consisting of three Heats and the final, where the winners won a Studio Recording deal. We also organised and held the 2018 Irish Battle of the Bands Intervarsities where the top bands from colleges around Ireland competed. As I am interested in Creative and Entertainment Management, this role was great experience and a wonderful opportunity for me. Show less

St. Anne's Build A Bank
-
County Clare, Ireland
-
Sales & Marketing Executive
-
Sep 2014 - May 2015
In my Transition Year of secondary school, I took part in AIB's Build a Bank. With the help of our local AIB's Business Development Officer, my team and I held a mini AIB branch in the canteen of our school once a week during lunch time. Here, students could create their own AIB bank account and deposit money every week. We learned valuable insights about bank operations and money management. This was one of my first proper experiences of working on a team. It allowed me to improve my Communication, Organisational and Team Work skills, as well as boosting my confidence in my abilities! My role was Managing our bank's Social Media accounts, Creating the Bank Logo and Promotional material. I also helped my team in the running of the bank every week and we organised weekly on-the-day raffles and promotions to encourage students to create an account and deposit money. As Hurling & Camogie were the themes for our Bank, we organised a school's Sports Day where local Sport Stars took part and our popular local radio station 'Spin South West' came to promote the event. It was a very successful day and all of the money raised went to our local charities. Our bank "Clash of the Cash" was a Regional Finalist for the AIB Build a Bank Challenge 2014/15. Show less

Work Experience
-
Apr 2015 - Apr 2015
For my Transition Year, I got the opportunity to complete a week's work experience for Analog Devices in Limerick from the 20th to 24th of April in 2015. This experience was informative, challenging at times and extremely interesting and fulfilling. I got to experience what it was like to work in a huge corporation with many different departments in the one building which was a whole new experience for me. The new Analog Devices building in Limerick had open plan offices so there was a friendly atmosphere and everyone was happy to give me advice. I got to learn about the company's history and I was given a tour of the lab to see how their technology was made. I also got to meet with some of the workers from different departments to hear about their experience and their advice. My main task of the week was a project to make my own Pong game from scratch. I learned simple programming techniques, basic soldering techniques for circuit boards and got to create and personalise my own game which was displayed on a mini LED screen. This experience allowed me an insight into Analog Devices and the world of electronics and semiconductors. It was a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity as I got to learn valuable insights from the workers, while creating something that I never thought I would have been able to make otherwise. Show less
