Completed a three-day work experience opportunity within the London Institute of Banking and Finance. The experience involved lectures including Economics, the Impact of Covid-19 on banking, Fintech, and Marketing in finance and also included talks on careers within the financial sector. The experience also included the chance to be part of a group project where you design your challenger bank and present the idea and marketing to the other groups. We also had a member of Amplify Trading come and join us who took us through simulations of past events and took us through how the markets are reacting to current events and how economics doesn't always match up to reality. • Santander We Evolve: Virtual Week Placement
      • Aug 2020 - Aug 2020

During this week-long placement, I learnt about Santander and its operations by using Google Classroom and Google Meet. Throughout the week, we looked at how many different departments makeup Santander and how they all intertwine. We had two guest speakers come in to talk about project management and risk models and explained how they are vital to running Santander and they keep the bank running smoothly. We also had a virtual assessment centre, helping us to understand what would be asked of us when we do end up doing one. Throughout the week, we also worked on a project surrounding the title 'How to buy a house'. We had to create a presentation explaining all the individual steps required to carry out the purchasing of a house. Not only did I learn the steps and how to apply for a mortgage, but I also learnt how to work on a project within a team with people that I barely knew- this enabled me to learn about how different people view situations and how to work with different ideas to make them work together. The main skills I learnt from this experience were how to actively collaborate and bring passion to what I enjoy doing. Show less
