During my work at EMBL I significantly contributed to the understanding of molecular mechanisms of dosage compensation in D. melanogaster. I purified and characterized a novel Non Specific Lethal (NSL) protein complex involved in general transcriptional regulation, and demonstrated the involvement of the histone acetyl transferase MOF, expanding the role of NSL beyond dosage compensation.
