    • Medical Explorations Shadowing Program
      • Aug 2022 - Sep 2022

Medical Explorations is a competitive program through the Tennessee Graduate SOM at UTMCK in the department of surgery. The program included three weeks of intensive shadowing (each week in one specialty), medical ethics lectures, medical school QnA, and Stop the Bleed Certification. I rotated through oncology (UCS practice), anesthesiology, and high-risk obstetrics (HiROC practice). Unofficially, I shadowed an additional two weeks in general surgery. Total of 150 hours. This was a very exciting and informative experience. I learned a lot about how the hospital operates, what physicians do day-to-day, from surgery to outpatient treatment, OR etiquette, and bedside manner. Show less
