Chemical Waste Team Leader
-
Sep 2021 - Present
After colour matching for a year, a job opportunity came up to become the teams next Chemical Waste Team Leader...and I am happy to announce I have been selected for the role and I'm loving it. Being more off the leather line I have been working with other sections of the business to ensure we are disposing of our waste appropriately and helping drive recycling across the factories.

Colour Development Technician

Sep 2020 - Sep 2021
After serving my time in the dye house I had the privilege to progress through to finishing. I loved this as finishing is directly after dying so I have gotten to see, in incredible detail, what these roles entail and in perfect order. Very similar to the dye house however this role was more customer facing and I really enjoyed the fact I got to work with other departments like Sales etc. This role was perfect for my sharp eye for detail. Customers could send in any object and ask us to match the colour. Show less

Once I finished my apprenticeship I was placed into a role that I really excelled and showed my strengths in. This was the development of dying hides. In this role I learned all about the different stages of dying leather and what effects can be made by changing the recipe. I learned not only to make my own recipes but to change others and amend percentage quantities to help steer products in the right direction through machine/man made errors or a customer changing their order last minute. This was learned through complex training from our dye house team but also hands on time with the drums and learning from my own mistakes and success. Show less

In this Leather Production and Manufacturing apprenticeship I worked in the full leather process from processing a raw material from the abattoir to cutting finished panels for customers to fit into their cars. I learned a wide variety of skills and tools that will last me a life time.
