Working with the award-winning, ethically sound non-profit organisation Pod Volunteer, I am constantly improving my skills in a wide variety of fields. Operating in a small team, I am the manager of multiple volunteering projects around the world - my duties include supporting volunteers before, during and after their placements, liaising with project partners both daily and through project visits, developing our social media presence and ensuring the information, risk-assessments and preparation for my projects are up to date. A large part of my role comes from contributing to the marketing of the organisation - this is achieved through writing blogs, updating our website and attending careers fairs and providing talks and presentations to large groups of students. The nature of the job calls for me to constantly be prepared for last minute changes as working with partners in a variety of countries around the world means I must factor in different operating times and changes in development of the country, as well as having a nuanced understanding of cultural variation.

Working as an audiotypist for Lucid Insult Consultancy, I was required to ensure that the management team received concise and well-documented notes following focus groups and interviews for potential products and/or advertising schemes. Clients included companies such as Mondalez, Jacobs Douwe-Egberts and Danon - all reputable companies which, in turn, gave me an invaluable insight into the inner workings of the marketing world. Through this role, my client based manner and time management skills were significantly improved.

Within my job with one of the UK’s leading nametag distributors, I was primarily hired to take responsibility of the daily postal order. This left me a large amount of financial responsibility; the summer months are the company's busiest time of year requiring me to work promptly and accurately. As well as this, my duties included answering customer queries via telephone; this significantly improved my telephone manner and customer service skills. Working at a small media promotion company, my roles were predominately focussed around the packing and despatching of orders for a variety of UK newspapers, including a large, long-standing order for the Daily Mail. This job role required me to work efficiently in both an independent and team environment.
