I worked tirelessly in the build up to and throughout the summer of 2015 (while also being abroad on my internship) to get all the necessary documentation and approvals in place to open up a new society. Bureaucracy sorted, I planned and executed a marketing and recruitment strategy to attract new members and by the end of October ’15, my one-woman band grew to over 20 members strong. With the team in place, we were able to focus on AIESEC’s core offering, i.e. international exchange, and secured over 10 internships and voluntary projects for the students of QMUL for the summer of 2016. While on my year abroad (Sep 2016 — Aug 2017), I acted as an advisor and mentor to the Executive Board of AIESEC Queen Mary as well as to my successor in the President position. Show less

Apart from night parties, I have also organised day-time workshops on various topics, e.g. healthy cooking, travelling on a student budget or dealing with stress as a student — these were ran by known social media influencers, bloggers and lifestyle coaches. Together with my manager, we have also secured a wine-tasting event with Majestic Wine, which was very well attended and received. Over a 10-month period, I designed, planned and executed over 30 events across 3 sites (Shoreditch, Mile End and Greenwich). I was also in charge of the marketing strategy. I redesigned the OOH media content and convinced my manager to invest in paid social — this resulted in the most-attended event in the company’s history (300+ attendees) and 50% higher average attendance of all other events in comparison to the previous academic year.
