Web-portal that aggregates senior-level jobs from different job boards and headhunter websites that provide career coaching services such as webinars, resume reviews, etc. I am fully responsible for manual and automated testing of internal CMS for creating marketing emails alongside testing massive email marketing campaigns (the portal works with 42 countries, so it translates to millions of emails). I introduced the Mailslurp tool and implemented e2e test automation for different "sendout" scenarios and mail tracking. Technologies used on the project: Cypress.io for UI and API test automation, Mailslurp for emails testing, Locust for performance testing, Jenkins + Gitlab for CI Show less

Here I worked on the Clinical Information Services (CIS) project, the world's largest data warehouse of veterinary data collected from vet practice information management systems and diagnostic labs. Along with one of my colleagues, I created a brand-new test automation framework (Java) for various CIS sub-projects while creating tests from scratch to fully function regression tests (UI and API) run by Jenkins against the actual code on schedule. Introduced Selenoid (tool for parallelized test runs in docker containers) instead of Selenium grid for better reliability. Created sets of reusable Postman collections to minimize the time of manual ad-hoc test runs. Performed manual testing of ETL data workflows targeted both at finding functional and performance defects. Technologies used: Java 11, Selenium (Selenide/ Selenoid/Docker)/Allure/ REST-assured/Jenkins Show less

Project: Riskmarket, January 2017 – December 2017 An online insurance aggregation service that allowed its users to price and buy insurance policies. Technically, the project was built on microservices architecture, so a lot of my tasks required microservices contract integration testing. I performed exploratory, functional, and regression testing and wrote test scenarios using the Gauge framework. Some end-to-end REST API testing was done using Postman, and some used REST Assured. I successfully implemented a test management system that improved our testing processes, clarified our test coverage, and created test documentation: test plans, test cases, and traceability matrix from scratch. The project team was fully distributed (Kaliningrad and Tomsk). The project's technologies and tools were Java 8, PostgreSQL, Selenium, Gauge BDD framework, Postman for test automation, Jira for the task and bug tracking, SynapseRT for test management, Jenkins for continuous integration. Project: Actus, August 2017 – December 2017 This project aimed to provide actuaries, analysts, and quants with a cloud service to model risks, fit statistical distributions to data and intuitively do all the actuarial math. My role here was to create end-to-end test scenarios with a wide variety of test data. I implemented an interactive test-case data generator using Python's math and statistics modules, including Numpy and Scipy. It was an exciting task because I needed to grasp actuarial math, produce use cases quickly, and create my tests to validate statistical calculations. Show less

My first, longest-lasting, and complex project allowed me to develop my career: I joined as a trainee and got promoted to senior QA engineer in 4 years. ST-Chicago is a SaaS automation solution for managing distribution networks and data consolidation of extensive FMCG holdings, in development since 2001. It had a lot of legacy code, poor testability, and complex business logic; ensuring quality was a challenging task for me. I pushed forward by using test design techniques, created test plans and checklists, reviewed requirements, and developed automated tests where it was possible. Much business logic was implemented using T-SQL stored procedures, queues, and jobs, so the project gave me a basic grounding in database development. One of the more exciting tasks was creating T-SQL jobs that checked the production database for data consistency and allowed the team to discover if something went wrong and fix it pre-emptively. Additionally, I liked to investigate tricky client issues that our support team couldn't solve and localized non-trivial bugs from production. My other tasks included maintenance of test environments (mostly a virtual machine with MSSQL Server and some databases) and generating test data to populate test databases. Microsoft stack was used on the project: .NET Framework, MS SQL Server 2016. TFS for source control, Test Manager for test case management, and Ranorex for test automation. Show less

ClickAvia was a charter flight ticket booking system. The side project allowed me to work in a small, fast-developing startup with well-established processes instead of a big company. Tasks on this project were not new to me: primarily, REST API testing was performed via Postman. But I had to adapt to short sprints, complete lack of documentation, and working on a team distributed all over the world in different time zones.
