Tour Guide
-
Sep 2019 - Feb 2021
As a part time tourguide, I was able to do tours in between classes at University, (longest tour being 3h) In the time I spent I managed to tour people in English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin. As I was the only employee at the Madrid location, my responsibilities involved also acting as a receptionist or Office Manager for our office, meaning I had to take incoming calls, clean, make sure all machines were in good condition to be ridden and charged, handle expenses, etc. Being a Segway tour guide also implied having a lot more responsibilities than I thought I would, apart from having to deal with dissatisfied customers (because of organization reasons with bookins) I also was responsible for their safety. Before each tour I would have to teach them how to ride a Segway since many had never done so before. There were accidents and at one time an ambulance was called when there was no-one else that could help me on a Christmas morning. However, I managed to develop good rapport with my clients (speaking languages definitely helped.) Show less

Intern
-
May 2016 - Jul 2016
Interned at the Condé Nast Institute in Shanghai for a summer. Role consisted in helping plan events for students (for example, the launch of the insitute and students' final project presentation) setting up the events as well as handling the guest list (remembering names and faces was the most challenging part of this experience). Part of my time there I also spent helping with recruitment, posting on socials in Mandarin and English, contacting via email and also writing.
